This home may have been originally built in Sherman Connecticut in about 1795, according to a signature board found during recent renovation. The building is filled with original structural timbers shaped with a broadaxe.  Many of the flooring boards are "quarter sawn" over one foot wide and the house is filled with handcarved mouldings and trim.  This charming and pastural building was the former home of a State Senator and Judge in the late 19th Century.

This home is in the United States Department of the Interior, National Register of Historic Places, as part of the Sherman Historic District.
(Listed as "resource # 47, 6 Route 37 East, Dr. D. W. Northrop House, Federal, 1826.")  Few alterations have happened with the change of ownership until recently.  Modern windows, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, full insulation and extensive site work have been completed.

I am the Principal Architect for the current owners and have been in charge of all renovation work for the past 2 years (+/-).
