This Westchester County, New York
Guest and pool house was constructed around the salvaged wooden
structure of an old New England barn that the client purchased.
The barn timbers were treated for insects and then chemically
sealed. Next the buildings wooden structure was set upon
a custom designed foundation that was set into the hill that formed
a platform and the "barn" was then enclosed with structurally
insulated panels, (sips). Inside is a 2 story high fireplace
with kichen facilities, bathroom facilities and room to sleep
guests on 2 levels that are connected by a custom designed steel
staircase. There is a 2 car garage with all the mechanical equipment
and a work studio located below the pool house. I was the site
supervising architect. (With Hierarchy Architect.)
