St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. This waiting room was built on an old roof and serves 2 vital portions of the hospital, renal dialysis and the main surgical operating suite. The calmness that this space exudes is appropriate for individuals who are either patients or visitors while they wait. The ability to look beyond the actual surround of this room while waiting brings comfort to the users. I was the principal architect for the renovation of the entire renal dialysis ward to increase its size by 100%.
